In the end it didn't...
In the end it didn't matter. You had come this far, and all for nothing.
You sit down upon the doorstep, and look out across the trees and the sky laid out in front of your balcony. A frothy mess of clouds fills the sky, and you sip your drink quietly. Yesterday had been tough; the day before was even tougher, but despite the difficult path, you came up empty handed. The Yakuza had won again, your daughter still lost.
Suddenly, you hear a noise inside your house. The front door is open, latched to the wall behind you, letting fresh air and a gentle breeze through the rooms. The sound of wood scraping against wood fills your ears, and your heart begins to pound.
